Apologies for absence
Minutes of the last meeting.
These were accepted.
Alastair intimated that he will shortly be asking individuals to take on Forum related tasks at short notice. He will endevour to do so via the relevant line managers but due to the pressing time constraints, it may not always be possible to do so.
Reports from units.
Agreement still needs to be reached on how the additional three UPSs are to be deployed.
Stephen clarified that packages which an LCFG component depends on, and which do not reside in the base or extras buckets, should also go into the LCFG bucket.
A meeting to discuss video streaming requirements, particularly for the Forum, took place last week. Tim's notes from the meeting can be found here.
According to the migration website, staff wishing to dispose of old computing equipment from their offices should pass it on to their local computing staff for evaluation and correct disposal. However, no arrangements are yet in place to cope with this influx of equipment. It was agreed that the best approach to take is to have a nominated room in each site which people can take unwanted kit to. We can then sort through this kit at our leisure. Alastair will arrange for the migration group to identify suitable rooms on each site and make the appropriate announcements.
The next meeting will be on May 14th in the Buccleuch Place Seminar Room and chaired by George Ross.
