The Project Allocation meeting will be held on Monday 30th April.
Reports from units.
Now rolled out to desktops so need to start on servers by removing the DICE_STICK_WITH_SL61 macro from the profile. Stephen suggested that we can do do a test run of updaterpms (with the -t flag) to check for any rpm conflicts etc. If this throws up any errors, the macro can be put back until the issue resolved. Would like to aim for upgrades to be completed by end of May. We can also use KVM for temporary test machines. MPU will provide details of possible machines. If you do use one, please put an appropriate comment in the profile. The buildhost machines can also be used to install packages for testing.
All the VMs on central need to be power cycled (a complete halt and restart).
In addition to the topics in the report, it was agreed that Neil and Alison would investigate the mining data previously mounted on diglett which is currently stored on atabeast1.
Topics for discussion
It is important that Units complete the trawl through Neil's list and identify machines/pages for which they are responsible. Neil/Alison will liaise on ensuring that all appropriate individual users are contacted and given suitable advice.
Carol noted that we need a new bios password. It was agreed that she would choose one and pass the details on as required.
The next meeting will be on Wednesday 9th May 2012 in the Turing Room.
