Though Chris's VM issues were the original driver for the meeting, the possibility of using them for exams should also be remembered.

Only two DICE machines aren't using it now: the old forumtracker is to go, and doesn't need mirrored any more; and venus.inf is due to be retired soon.

There are rather a lot of them. Some may be due to defunct machines' profiles still hanging around. The remote scanning tool will at least be scanning all of the subnets.
Some discussion, but no real conclusions. There are still some network machines to reboot, though, and it'll be interesting to see what shows up.
No bad things were reported, so this will now be rolled out more widely.
Perhaps a BIOS upgrade might help?
The general feeling was that if they didn't fix the problem somehow then their firewall holes should be closed. Alison will chase this up. Moving them to Wordpress might be a viable option in the longer term.
