Some dates on the wiki actions page need fixing up.
Neil had included some figures in the Services Unit's report. The current rootmail load isn't too bad, though there were a few things to check up on:
Chris mentioned that he had a simple disc-usage script which might substitute for logwatch. He circulated a link to the MPUDiskFull wiki page after the meeting.
All to maintain the pressure to get rid of old machines.
syncmean on a KVM client?
Chris has added these to the MPU ToDo list.
Following on from the discussion last time, the general consensus was that we had got about as far as we would this time around. The (recurrent) action will come back in November.
Report from Computing Executive Group
Reports from Units
Neil noted that there had been issues in the past when several FC links were taken down all at the same time. Inf-unit will be consulting with MPU and Services over the procedure when we come to replace one of the Forum fabrics.
A discussion ensued regarding the way MSc projects were specified and managed.
(The discussion of root mail was actually taken here, as Neil had included some figures in the Services report, but it's minuted above as it was an action from last time.)
Topics for discussion
The meeting discussed this briefly, concluding that it was prompted at least in part by some possible lack of consistency between how the limits were documented, how they were configured, and how they actually worked in practice. Chris will check the user documentation, but we'll leave the topic on the list pending Stephen describing the issues as he sees them.
Craig reminded everyone of the afternoon's Technical Discussion Meeting, to be held in Wilkie Building.
The next meeting will be on 8th July 2015 at 10:00 in 4.31. Alison will convene.
