A final proposal has been formulated and will be distributed. Roger will then take to LCFG deployers meeting for comment.

Report from Computing Executive Group
Alastair gave a verbal report from the latest CCPAG meeting. Brief highlights were:
There are also concerns over IS commitment to the distributed version of Edweb. One suggestion is that the College should produce and manage its own distribution.
Reports from Units
It was agreed that the new lcfg-dns component should go into next weeks stable release to take advantage of the reboot the new kernel will occasion.
It was clarified that the solution suggested in the report is a temporary fix until the long term future of pkgsearch is clarified
It was agreed that when a VM server is scheduled for downtime, MPU will be responsible (after consultation with the other Units) for publicising the services which will be affected.
There is a wiki page here showing progress on SL7 teaching packages.
RAT clarified that the MSc. submission system is now using AFS space. Ptn175 can be reclaimed once RAT are happy that the data is no longer needed.
Topics for discussion
After some discussion, it was agreed that accounts should be re-enabled automatically but that clarification was needed on the difference between a disabled and a suspended account.
Strictly speaking, this issue is not within our remit. There is absolutely no expectation that computing staff should clear up messes like this. It was agreed that the recent case was exceptional and that by and large there was no compelling argument to change the current policy. All the same, it might be worth forwarding evidence of particularly noxious behaviour to the appropriate authorities.
A separate meeting will be convened to discuss this issue. People were reminded that Ian Durkacz had already produced several documents on the subject (linked to from here) and that it would be well worth re-reading this material before the meeting.
The next meeting will be on 9th September 2015 at 10:00 in IF-4.31
George will convene.
