Topics for discussion
We discussed whether the SL7 desktop upgrades, and what the consequences of upgrading were likely to be, were publicised adequately. One thing we didn't do at an early stage this time round, but probably should have, was to provide one or more open access machines running SL7 at an early stage of the proceedings and encourage users to try them out. Given that changes to the window managers were a major part of this upgrade, this would have been very useful for letting the users know what to expect, though of course many of them wouldn't have bothered to try out the open access machines. We debated whether it would have been useful to have a SL7 virtual DICE distribution early on but agreed that it would have been difficult to keep it synchronised with the main release.
The next meeting will be on 13th April 2016 at 10:00 in IF-4.31, chaired by George.
