Actions discussed:

• Raise issue of more transparent recruitment at CEG

  Alastair updated the meeting as much as he could as things currently stand. He and Tim are discussing how to proceed.

• Review pages in computing.help

  Still many pages awaiting updating despite passing of deadline. Refer to CEG.

• Produce "get started" guide for new O365 users.

  Not quite there yet, but expecting to be ready before the next batch of moves.

• Trawl for pages restricted by IP address rather than via cosign

  Craig thought we had decided to drop this recurrent action, but apparently it's still on the list. We'll revive it and discuss it next time.

  1. Forum server room

     Reminder: the Forum server room must be kept locked with a key on Thursday mornings.

  2. Generator tests

     Reminder: the AT generator test happens on Thursday 18th April. It will start at 8am, and conclude by midday.

     We now have a draft schedule. RT#94754.

  5. Forum power usage

     Although L2 and L3 have dropped back a bit we're still over 50% on L1. How we schedule the UPS replacement, which may require turning off half of the existing pair, will take a bit of thought.

  6. Server room power usage in general

     This makes it essential that new servers in any of the Forum server rooms are discussed with Infrastructure before they are installed. They should really be discussed and space reserved before ordering.

      Graham commented that it's possible to use the "short" password to connect to the iDRAC to then manually set the correct password, so physical presence in front of the machine isn't a requirement.

      It looks as though we won't be able to have this done as part of the Forum power work, so we'll just have to schedule reboots as required.
