The minutes for 13th Nov and 11th Dec were approved.
This has been cancelled for 2020. It was agreed to remove this from the Action list. It can be added if and when it is scheduled again.
Ian noted that it would be very helpful to clear any servers that have been identified for removal. US have a few that can now be removed. Action to be changed to 'REMOVE' rather than 'Review'.
RAT has 1 remaining which Iain is in the process of scheduling.
Carol noted that she now has the information to correct the remaining page on WePresent. The review date has now been changed to anything prior to July 2018.
Ongoing - see also US report

Report from Computing Executive Group
Alastair and US unit will discuss the implications of the policy on 27th Jan. In summary, we will be required to deprecate machines that are no longer receiving updates. Macs could be re-installed with Linux if MacOS updates not available. Windows will have a 4 year lifespan. Alastair is pushing for Linux lifespan to be 7 years (as updates are available up to this point). Machine life is retrospective but the number of machines allocated to an individual is not.
Nick and Anila are pushing to improve the quality of data particularly in relation to research servers.
Reports from Units
Ian noted that there is a 'staging' rack available for general use located next to the GPU rack, opposite the comms rack. See Inf report for more information.
There was no objection to the planned date of Tue 14th April.
Comments and suggestions are still invited!
George is proposing to enable this on the self-managed wires (SM164 and SM197) on Monday 10th February.
Access to LCFG XML profiles via http is now blocked. Use https instead. A consequence of this will be that machines which have been switched off for a long period of time will not be able to access their profile. Our default would be to re-install but, if that is not possible for any reason, speak to MPU.
... although Alex mentioned that Pavlos is trialling 'mattermost' as an alternative to slack/Piazza. It is currently hosted by EPCC.
Topics for discussion
George to write about IPv6 on self-managed wires.
The next meeting will be on Wednesday 12th February 2020, chaired by George, in AT-7.07, at 10:00.
