Topics for discussion
It would appear that things are calming down a bit as people become accustomed to home working. The issue of most concern is the load on the original remote servers. This continues to be high, despite the introduction of new servers and more effort is needed to convince the more technical users to move to the new servers, leaving the original ones for the use of admin staff. Some strategies for accomplishing this were discussed.
Neil commented that he had been persevering with the use of VNC but was not convinced that this was best practice, especially in light of issues caused by Kerberos/AFS tickets expiring. It was agreed that while this was probably true, it would still be worthwhile for Neil to document his experiences
The Operational meeting in its current form was discussed. It was generally agreed that holding weekly meetings was worthwhile but it might be worth streamlining them somewhat by only looking at actions every two or three weeks.
The next meeting will be on Wednesday 8th April 2020 online at 10am.
