The minutes for 15th April were unfortunately not brought for approval by the Convener.
Report from Computing Executive Group
Reports from Units
George emphasised the importance of the labels in the .outlets files being kept up to date. If they are not, we can't tell what might be at-risk or causing a problem, you might find things turned off by mistake, and the feeds into the inventory won't be accurate. He also noted that he has seen no response from the recent email sent out to SMSR users.
Graham also noted on the meeting chat, that you can find itool in cos/utils which is a wrapper for ipmitool.
Alastair stressed that kit should not be redeployed without being referred to CEG first. This includes kit that is being redeployed within a Unit and not just kit that is being transferred to another Unit.
Subsequent to the meeting, Neil has emailed COs with 3 proposed options. As a quick fix, there is a new live/rfc1918-mail.h header that ships a new sendmail template file with the root exception removed and points the mail component at that template.
A project has now been created for this.

Alison confirmed that as far as she knows, there will be no moves while we continue to work from home. Neil asked whether there could be ad-hoc moves. Alastair noted that IS are not keen to do this as it's not cost effective because of the coordination work involved. Neil then asked whether it would be possible for IS to 'flick the switch' for individuals to direct email to office365 rather than staffmail and for the user to subsequently move mail themselves (as Iain Rae did for example). We do not believe this is an option but Alison will check.
